Reserach focus, presentations and publications during stay
Uwe Schimank’s work currently focuses on the functional differentiation of capitalist society. This was also one of his focal points during his stay: in a workshop he discussed his text ‘Wohlfahrtsgesellschaften als funktionaler Antagonismus von Kapitalismus und Demokratie’ (‘welfare societies as a functional antagonism of capitalism and democracy’) and in a colloquium he gave a presentation on forms, driving forces and effects of social economisation (together with Ute Volkmann).
